JOB OVERVIEW

We're a UK-based DTC brand in the pet health space — premium supplements for ageing dogs. This is in-house, working directly with the founder. Not agency work, not a content mill.

We make performance ads: AI-generated footage, real footage sourced from social, and competitors footage, cut into ads that stop the scroll and sell. If you cut wedding films or corporate explainers, this isn't your role. If you've made DTC ads that had to actually convert, keep reading. This posting is long on purpose — how you respond to it tells us more than your CV will.
The work

Most ads are 15–45 seconds. Some fully AI-generated, some built from real footage pulled off TikTok, Instagram and YouTube, most a mix. The skill is knowing which approach each brief needs and executing so the viewer can't tell what's AI and what isn't.

We build mostly in Google Flow (Veo) and think it's the strongest tool going right now. Runway, Kling, whatever's current — if something better lands next month, we expect you to find it.

For most of the content we make, If it looks like an ad, it's wrong. If it looks like something a real owner filmed at home with their own dog, it's right. You should also know which AI voice tools sound human and which kill an ad instantly, and understand that the first three seconds d ---------- whether anyone watches the other forty.

A live brief
An ad opens on an older dog pausing at the bottom of the stairs, hesitating before the climb — it has to stop the scroll in the first 3 seconds. Walk us through how you'd make those three seconds. What's the first frame?

Experience
You should have made video ads for DTC or ecommerce brands — performance ads built to sell a product, not corporate videos, YouTube intros or wedding films. If your portfolio is all non-commercial work, we're probably not the right fit.

Hours and rate
Hourly to start, $5–8 depending on experience, roughly 10–20 hours a week. If the work is strong and consistent, this moves to part-time or full-time within a couple of months. We don't micromanage hours. We care about output and communication — show up, do great work, flag issues early.

How to apply
Don't send a CV or a cover letter. We don't read them. Send us:

One real DTC video ad you think was built to look real but still reads as AI. Paste the link and tell us in 2–3 sentences what gave it away and what you'd have done differently.

AI video always has tells. How do you get rid of them? Be specific and concise — techniques, tools, settings. We'd rather have three real ones than a list of ten.

Your approach to the staircase brief above.

Three ads you've made (links). For one, tell us what you'd redo today, and why.

One thing in this posting you think is wrong, or would push back on. We mean it — the best editors we've worked with always have an opinion.

For the subject line: skip the greeting and put the single AI video tool you'd bet on for the next twelve months, nothing else.
We read every application that follows this. The generic ones (no links, no opinion, no self-critique) take about ten seconds to spot, and we don't reply to those.

If you've read this far and something in it made you think yeah, I could do that — we'd love to hear from you. We're a small team, you'd be working directly with the founder, and if you're good, you'll have real ownership over the work and room to grow with us as we scale. Take your time with the application. We read every proper one, and we'll always reply to the people who clearly put the effort in.
