How to Monetize Your Skills & Expertise Through Online Teaching and Training

For the past couple of years, there has been a growing trend when it comes to teaching and training. It is the growth and acceptance of online learning and training or commonly called "e-learning".

There has been a growing number of websites that offer courses and training programs that don't require you to be physically present to participate. All you have to do is to register on their website, pay the fee and you will gain access to the training materials and the online instructor.

The potential of earning a good living by offering online training programs is big as many people are enrolling to different training programs on the Internet daily. How nice it will be if you can also offer online training programs and earn in the process. Is this something you think you are interested in doing? If so, below are the 3 things you need to consider in offering online training programs.

Screen shot 2014-11-01 at 7.08.29 PMThis is the most important component of your e-learning & training career because this is what your students and trainees will be paying for. It is important that you teach things that you are indeed knowledgeable of because this will show during the training and when delivery comes in. So ask yourself, "What skills or skillsets do I have that I am knowledgeable of and have the confidence to teach to others?" If you can identify any skill or skillset and think you are good at it, you can proceed to item #2 below.

Screen shot 2014-11-01 at 7.05.15 PMNow that you have determined what skill you're specialized in, this time, you need to ask yourself, do you have enough time to create and deliver this training program? This is an important question to ask yourself and get a clear YES answer because this will dictate the success or failure of your online training program. Why? It's because drafting your training outline requires time, creating the actual training material requires time, developing the website/portal to place your training portal takes time, plus the time  marketing and the actual delivery of the program.

I know these may be a handful of things to do. These challenges is expected at the start as you are creating the program. Once you have everything in place, the only thing you need to do is to simply promote it and support your students. So make sure you have enough time to alot for the development of your program. You can actually finish everything in one week or you can finish it in 6 months. It's entirely up to you. What's important is you allocate time in developing the ground work . So, do you have time to dedicate for it? :)

Technical-Knowledge-and-ExperienceThe last item is as equally important as the rest as this will be the cornerstone of your online teaching and training career. When I say technical knowledge, I am referring to knowledge in building your training portal, crafting your course/training outline and other technical stuff needed to setup and make ready your website to accept students and payments.

Marketing know-how is also important because it is through this effort where you will get people to know that your training program exists. Without people knowing your offer or service, no one will join and enroll. If no one enrolls, you won't earn anything and eventually, it will be hard for you to sustain this career.

So there you have it, the 3 things that you need to consider if you want to start your online teaching and training career. Personally, I know many people had a hard time with item #3 as this is something most people don't know about. In line with that, Ms. Janette Toral of and I decided to create a training program specifically designed for those who are interested in developing their online training programs. It is called "E-learning Development & Marketing Boot Camp".

Elearning Official PostersWhat is this bootcamp all about? It's a 12 session training program designed to help aspiring individuals in developing and rolling out their respective e-learning programs. This will be a highly interactive live online training and you don't have to leave home to join. All you need is your own computer, stable internet connection and availability on the training days.

How much will this cost? To be honest, this program can easily cost you 15,000 pesos because of the length of the training, value of the information that will be shared and the experiences that we will be sharing in this bootcamp. But we decided to just offer it for a very affordable, one-time payment of 3,000 pesos until Nov 7, 2014. After that, the regular price of 3,500 pesos will apply. In addition, we may not be offering it again at this very low price the next time so if you are really interested, I strongly suggest you take this opportunity now and be ahead by having your very own e-learning program.

To join, send me an email at so that I can further assist you and give you the details on how to settle your training fee. You can also send me a message at This training program will Start on November 18, 2014.
